Where I live and what I love about it: Wilmington, near Trolley Square. I love how close it is to the hospital and how pretty and peaceful the town is. There are lots of restaurants to try and sooo many parks to enjoy! The outdoors is beautiful here.
Why I chose Nemours: I had never stepped foot in Delaware before but I have family in New Jersey that I wanted to be close to. I also was hoping to have access to large cities nearby when I want a change in pace, and wilmington allows me to have that! I really enjoyed my interview, and even spoke with some of the residents on the phone after, and they told me everything they loved about the program. The fact that they took the time and effort to talk to me after their shift meant a lot and showed me what kind of people were residents at this program, so I knew I wanted to be a part of it! It’s also a plus to work at such a beautiful hospital :)

I even had that sub-I attending send me a text on the first night of my third year to say congrats on making it all that way. That is the kind of family Nemours is.

Why I chose Nemours: I'm sure all my co-residents have already mentioned the people, so I'll talk about the training! Nemours has every subspecialty you could want, and the attendings are so approachable and excited to teach. I really liked the X+Y schedule, and think it's a big improvement for outpatient education. I also liked our diversity of training sites -- I think our program really gives us the best of all worlds (even if it might mean a bit more driving!).
